I'd like to say a huge thank you to all of you 'Early Reviewers' from www.librarything.com (12 out of 75 so far!). I am amazed and overwhelmed by the positive comments about "False Friends: Faux Amis Book One" that are flooding out. I'm very grateful, and will send you all a copy of Book Two when it becomes available.

My cousin reacts like this to The Daily Mail. The hilarious thing about it is that she calls herself a socialist; in fact, in their ivory tower, the 'Pharisees' seem totally out of touch with the majority of (human) people.

Thanks for those who requested "False Friends: Faux Amis: Book One". Hope you're enjoying it. Do, please, add comments, however brief. I'd like to know that someone somewhere is in communication on this site...!
If anyone has any tips for enjoying Paris or Lille...? A friend and I discovered the free zoo to the north of Lille centre; it made for a relaxed and enjoyable Sunday morning.

'Donner le change', 'sans demander son reste', 'tomber dans les pommes'; expressions that are not what they appear to be on the surface. This is what makes French so interesting for me. I am publishing a booklet about these: "False Friends: Faux Amis", which will be out on Feb 1st 2010.
