'Donner le change', 'sans demander son reste', 'tomber dans les pommes'; expressions that are not what they appear to be on the surface. This is what makes French so interesting for me. I am publishing a booklet about these: "False Friends: Faux Amis", which will be out on Feb 1st 2010. If anyone would like a free copy (£1 to cover P&P) I will publish contact details nearer the time. This is my first publishing venture so I am 'feeling my way'.

  1. Having discovered this wee gem of a book am torn between telling all my friends so they can benefit/enjoy it too and 'keeping schtum' (French equivalent Ellie please?!) so that I can impress them with my colloquial knowledge, ha!

Brilliant. Easy to pick up, dip into and really helpful for adults and kids alike. Finally someone who makes French fun - and accessible.

    Merci Mlle Malet...
